Cheap Airsoft Guns – The Novel

The Sun was just breaking over the trees and Ben was already in position behind a weed and vine infested stack of rotted wood. He was guarding his post. He peered through the scope of his airsoft gun and surveyed the field. All was quiet so he dug deep in his pocket amidst the Airsoft BB’s and grabbed a peice of gum, unwrapped it and started to chomp down until it was easy to chew.

Dat dat dat dat dat, He was under attack. Ben sunk down quickly as the yellow bb’s didn’t make it through his cover and fell short of hitting him. Ben stood up on his knees and aimed in on an enemy combatant fleeing for cover after the failed hit on him. Dat dat dat dat dat…Ha! Bulls eye! Ben was always a good shot, He always claimed that it was because of his trusty Airsoft Gun. He was proud of his Cheap Airsoft Gun that he purchased from TheSportsOddity.com.

Ben turned and looked behind him to make sure his Flag was still standing proudly as he gave Drew a thumbs up from across the field who was laying down in tall grass. Drew was Bens best bud. They’ve been through so much together. Countless airsoft gun battles and working together to design successful campaigns and attacks. They knew each other through and through and this only strengthened their Airsoft Team.

Dat, Dat, Dat, Dat, Drew was under fire. He rolled out of the way of the first barrage of bb’s. He made it to his feet and sprinted across the field towards whe

Airsoft Guns – What Are they anyway?

Airsoft Guns, sounds like it could be the latest technology for the air brushing artist. Or perhaps, the latest in ear piercing mechanisms? No and No. Airsoft Guns are the latest in toy gun replicas or bb guns. I know I just mad a lot of Airsoft Gun Owners cringe when I said Toy guns, because some of these pieces are down right works of art. Not to mention they can really pack some power and have serious feet per second ranges. But for the most part these bb guns are sold largely on the Toy market and most of the product are in the Cheap Airsoft Gun category.

Airsoft was born in Japan in the 1980’s due largely impart to real firearms being illegal. The crafty Japanese created replicas of real firearms and Airsoft Guns hit the market. Spreading fast on the Asian toy and hobby market it didn’t take long hit the USA and UK with a bang in the 1990’s. Since then Airsoft has grown leaps and bounds as a legitimate sport and has spawned new Airsoft War Camps and competition sites all over the United States, Canada, U.K. and Australia.

Backyard target practice is still probably the widest spread use of Airsoft Guns. Just pull out a few targets and a few airsoft guns in the backyard at your next Fantasy Football party and see what happens. You can bet you’ll know where your friends are hanging out between their picks. (true story) However, the heavily enthused Airsoft Players are spending the real dollars and going all out on the sport. It’s not uncommon for these players to be toting 3,4, $500 guns to their battles. They are gathering by the hundreds at paintball type camps to play out Military style campaigns and combat battles to capture the enemies flag.

So, no they are not the latest in Air Brush technology but something so much cooler. Something that can truly stand the test of time. A simple way to own some of the most historic Military weapons of all time even if it is a mere replica. Thanks for Stopping By!

Cheap Airsoft Guns – Are they worth it?

I guess this is a fair question to ask when you’re shopping for an Airsoft Gun. Is a cheap airsoft Gun worth the money or should you spend the extra cash and buy a more expensive gun? I guess it all depends on who is playing and what the gun is to be used for. If the purchase is to satisfy a newbie Airsoft Gun Player who just wants to shoot cans in the backyard then I would definitely go with the Cheap airsoft Gun. If the Player is going to be using the gun at an Airsoft War Camp or in Marksmen competitions then the obvious, well thought out, more expensive piece should be the choice.

But keeping with the title of this article lets ask if Cheap Airsoft Guns are worth the money. Heck Yes they are! And, the good news is that there are so many choices out there when it comes to the less expensive Airsofrt Guns. By far the most popular is the Electric series or AEG’s. The masses really seem to like the semi and automatic feature that come with these guns. In fact they will sacrifice a few fps (feet per second) and go with the Electric Airsoft Gun even though the single action spring airsoft guns will out perform them in the fps category. If you’ve read some of my articles you know I love the original spring action guns.

Another option, while not as Cheap bit still very modestly prices is the C02 and Green Gas series of Airsoft Guns. With these you have no lack of power or fps. These guns hit hard and are accurate. The downfall is the propellent that is used with these guns. CO2 cartridges don’t last very long and if you have a leaking seal you can go through lots of cartridges and that could get expensive. Green Gas is just plain expensive. This is largely due to the fact that the DOT has levied charges on the Gas when it is shipped for warehouse to shop or customer due to it’s flammability.

So as you can see your choices are not very limited when it comes to buying Airsoft Guns. It just depends on what you want it for and how much you’re willing to pay to keep using it. The Spring guns are the Very Best Value in my opinion. No gas to deal with, no cartridges or batteries. Just plain old elbow grease to cock the mechanism. But that’s just me “Mr. Old School” . Cheap Airsoft Guns – The Spring has Sprung!

With all of the Electric devices out there in the toy market it’s nice to see that something conventional is still a strong force amongst Airsoft players. Spring Airsoft Guns are still very popular amongst Airsoft gun users. Perhaps not as popular as their Electric Airsoft Gun cousins but still very popular none the less.

I think the on going appeal to the Spring guns is the fact that they perform so well. You get a lot more power and FPS (feet per second) per dollar when you go with an Spring Gun. So, if you pay $25 for an Electric Airsoft Gun you’re going to get a semi-full automatic which is great, but you will probably only shoot about 180-200 fps. That same money would buy a Spring counterpart that would easily out shoot the electric gun in fps and have more short range power for accuracy.

The downside to the Spring of course is the fact that it’s not automatic. You have to set the cocking mechanism after every shot. But, depending on the Airsoft Game you’re playing it may or may not matter. If you’re playing war games and you need the rapid fire because you’re dug down in the trenches you may want to go with the Electric Airsoft Gun. If you’re target shooting or in stealth mode as a sniper you could easily go with the Spring Airsoft Gun.

Either way playing Airsoft war games is getting more popular everyday. Airsoft Manufactures are coming out with new replicas of different guns every month. They also are making Airsoft Grenades and land mines to help take out your enemy at the camp. So if you’ve never played with an Airsoft Gun no matter what your age. Head over to you favorite Airsoft Shop and check one out today. And, depending on what you need the gun for, now you can make an educated decision. I’m still partial to the nice Spring action guns. I guess I’m nostalgic that way.

Thanks
